Adrift

ADRIFT

Germinate them
 hope proclaims.
Dreams
spew their steam.
Contrails
lulled, a wayward breeze,
Evanesce.
Make thine own regrets.

Ivory

IVORY

When I see those keys
grey-stained and worn
gaily played but
never more,
I hear her sing
her song to me
and it is late
 but ’tis not so
 to think of her,

 to hear her song,
one more time,

hear her sing.

Here

Twas put before me

Once.

Who is it I am?

And given to wonder

Why,

Is it to matter?

I am not so much that.

No.

Rather more this I think.

Trees and river and

Sky

All came there

With me, within me

Me

Was there to see.

I’ve done it.

Yes.

I’ve worked it out.

‘Tis plain to see.

At last

I am

what I am to be.

Again

AGAIN

Distractions,
life stuff
arise
dawn dim
grip the wheel
slog along the asphalt.
Distaste.
Psyche gurgles
agitates
coughs
sputters
spits.
Awash in yesterday’s promises.
